Ben Tate’s time with the Minnesota Vikings was short-lived. The running back was waived on Tuesday, the team announced shortly at 5 p.m.
According to the Pioneer Press, the Vikings paid Tate $352,941 through the end of the season, along with approximately $46,000 per game.
RB Ben Tate got $587,316 out of the Vikings for five games. That's $352,941 salary and five games active at $46,875 apiece.

He was signed by Minnesota on Nov. 19 and on the active roster for five games. Tate carried the ball only 13 times for 39 yards. Tate started his season with the Browns before growing upset with the way he was used. The Browns waived him just days before the Vikings signed him.
Tate would of been due $2.2 million next season.
Waiving Ben Tate now gives playoff teams a crack at him; Cardinals and Colts tried to get him last time around.
