The NFL Draft is less than two months away and today was a big day for the Vikings and an even bigger day for Louisville’s prized quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.
Bridgewater worked out in front of NFL coaches and general managers at the Louisville pro day, the results of which have been mixed.
“Most quarterbacks have good pro days,” NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock said, as reported by Pro Football Talk. “Today, I thought it was very average at best.”
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was one of six head coaches in attendance, according to NFL.com. General manager Rick Spielman was also watching, as was offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who thought Bridgewater looked “pretty good,” according to Gil Brandt.

Mayock wasn’t a fan but Brandt and Turner were. How about CBS Sports’ Jeff Reynolds?
His ball was loose at times and wobbled into the hands of his receivers but he also showed touch in the red-zone portion of the workout, flashed deep accuracy that also lacked great timing on occasion and hit his receivers in stride while on the move in Monday’s session. Overall, his footwork was not great and his timing was average to poor on some throws.
Bridgewater is widely considered the most NFL-ready quarterback in the draft, and there’s a chance he’ll be on the board when it’s the Vikings’ turn to pick (No. 8 overall).
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that Bridgewater met privately with Vikings staff members on Sunday. Is it due diligence, true interest or both?
Spielman, Zimmer and Turner fueled speculation that Minnesota is interested in quarterback A.J. McCarron when the trio attended Alabama’s pro day last week. McCarron is projected to go in the second or third round, NFL.com says.
