The Vikings apparently have a new punter on their radar.
ESPN reports the Vikes brought in LSU punter Brad Wing last week for a workout.
Wing is considered one of the best available at that position in this year’s draft, along with Oklahoma’s Quinn Sharp.
If Minnesota ends up drafting Wing, it could mean they part ways with Chris Kluwe, who had an inconsistent 2012 season, despite punting for the highest gross average (44.4 yards) in team history.
While Wing may not wind up at Mall of America Field, the Daily Norseman points out that the Vikings are not afraid to take a chance on improving special teams play, replacing Ryan Longwell with Blair Walsh last spring.
