With Jasper Brinkley leaving in free agency to the Arizona Cardinals, the Vikings are still without a starting middle linebacker.
In an interview with the Pioneer Press, assistant coach Mike Singletary says it’s “no secret” the Vikings “have to get” a middle linebacker.
The NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and there are quite a few highly regarded middle linebackers available that could draw interest from the Vikings.
The other option is finding a starter via free agency. Former Bears MLB Brian Urlacher is still available, and the Vikings were reportedly interested in him last month.
