The new home of the Minnesota Vikings won’t open until at least 2016, but the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority is already accepting proposals from potential food and beverage vendors, the Associated Press reports.
Catering and concession services interested in serving hungry football fans at the new stadium in downtown Minneapolis have until April 23 to submit their culinary creations.
Fox 9 notes Target Field is already known for offering Minnesota inspired cuisine that includes State Fair classics, Schweigert hot dogs and several local brews.
The 31-year-old Metrodome will likely be torn down in January or February of next year, to make way for the new $975 million stadium.The Vikings will spend the 2014 and 2015 seasons outdoors in TCF Bank Stadium, current home of the Gophers. The new Vikings stadium is scheduled to be ready for the 2016 season.
