The state stadium panel that had hoped to approve a lease agreement with the Vikings Friday has postponed its meeting because there’s no deal to approve.
The Associated Press reports the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority has delayed the meeting for a week.
The lease is expected to be a thirty-year agreement that will lay out the terms for the Vikings’ use of the $975 million stadium. The AP reports one of the key points in the negotiations is how many seats will be subject to personal seat licenses.
Gov. Mark Dayton raised the profile of that issue recently when he objected to the prospect that team owners Zygi and Mark Wilf could use revenue from those licenses to avoid spending any of their own money on the stadium.
The Wilfs have been away from the negotiating table this week, as they accompanied the team to London for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It’s a busy week for the Wilfs, who also confirmed they will appeal a judge’s ruling that they owe $84.5 million to a pair of former business partners they defrauded in a New Jersey real estate development.
