FoxSports’ Jay Glazer reports Cassel picked Minnesota over Tampa Bay.
Cassel spent the last four seasons with the Chiefs, who recently replaced him as starter by trading San Francisco’s Alex Smith.
Early reaction from the twitter-verse:
You know your teams QB is bad when they sign one who threw 6 TD's and 12 int's last season and tell him he will compete to start #Vikings

Matt Cassel is the backup QB in the same way Spielman had no intention of trading Percy Harvin…i.e. he is until he isn't. #Vikings

The Vikings have transformed into the Chiefs, great at RB, thin at WR, and Matt Cassel at QB. @Vikings #Vikings
