Nick Truesdell, a 6-foot-6, 252-pound tight end, barely played college football but now has a chance to make an impression with the Minnesota Vikings, who signed him and two other players Thursday.
Truesdell got kicked out of college in 2008 and has spent the years since in lower leagues. His name has some sizzle because he recently ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at a pro day, according to USA Today’s Tom Pelissero.
He picked the Vikings over eight other teams, according to NFL Draft Diamonds. Those teams: Raiders, Jets, Bengals, Rams, Falcons, Colts, Giants and the Titans.
Pelissero adds that Truesdale was kicked out of college at the University of Cincinnati in 2008 after a number arrests for theft, breaking and entering, and drug trafficking, but he hasn’t been in legal trouble since 2010.
