The 27-year-old Kafka spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was originally a fourth round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2010 NFL Draft.
He is the second quarterback the Vikings have signed during free agency. Minnesota also signed former Rams quarterback Shaun Hill to serve as Teddy Bridgewater’s primary backup.
According to 1500 ESPN, Kafka was one of 100 or so players the Vikings watched during the inaugural NFL veteran scouting combine in Arizona, last month.
Spielman liked what he saw from Kafka at the Veteran Combine. It's a 1-year deal for the minimum. #vikings
