Sean Mannion has agreed to a contract with the Minnesota Vikings, with KSTP’s Darren Wolfson reporting that it’s a one-year deal.
Mannion was drafted by the Rams in the third round in 2015. He’s played in 10 games (1 start) and passed for 258 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. It’s likely that Mannion will compete with Kyle Sloter to be the backup quarterback to Kirk Cousins.
Minnesota was in need of another quarterback after they let Trevor Siemian test free agency, ultimately signing with the New York Jets.
The soon-to-be 27-year-old is 6-foot-6 and was a four-year starter at Oregon State University (2011-14), where he 13,600 yards, 84 touchdowns and 53 interceptions.
