Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph is in New York for the Super Bowl and he raced a turkey to predict the Super Bowl winner.
Rudolph and former Denver Broncos safety John Lynch named their turkeys Jake and Reggie. They took the turkeys to the streets of New York City, with Lynch’s turkey wearing a Denver jersey and Rudolph’s wearing a Seahawks jersey. The turkey’s raced and Rudolph’s came away with a narrow victory. The win for Reggie means he is the first turkey to predict the Super Bowl’s outcome. Whether he is right will be determined Sunday night.
The race was less about a prediction and more about promoting the movie “Free Birds,” which comes to DVD and Blu-ray on Feb. 4. The animated movie is about a turkey named Reggie who does everything he can to take turkeys off the Thanksgiving Day menu, according to Examiner.
Rudolph joined KFAN’s Paul Allen and Paul Charchian interviewed Rudolph Friday morning, and like Reggie, Rudolph predicted the Seahawks will win. He also talked about how excited he is to play for new Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer and offensive coordinator Norv Turner. The interview with Rudolph begins at the 14:40 mark of the player.
