According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman will report with all rookies to training camp on Sunday.
Vikings’ rookie Jaylen Twyman, who was shot four times this summer in Washington D.C., “has recovered enough from his gunshot wounds that he will be reporting to training camp today with the other rookies”, said his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. “He’s really excited.”

Twyman was shot four times in Washington D.C. while visiting a relative last June. He was one of multiple victims in the shooting and suffered wounds in his arm, leg, buttocks and shoulder.
While Twyman has recovered from two of his wounds, Rosenhaus said he still experiencing difficulty with a wound located in his pelvis area.
Twyman will likely begin camp on the non-football injury list but is expected to play this season. The Vikings’ sixth-round pick (199th overall) opted out of the 2020 season but led the Pittsburgh Panthers with 10.5 sacks in 2019.
Twyman will compete for depth during camp in a group that added Dalvin Tomlinson and Sheldon Richardson this offseason. The Vikings will also get Michael Pierce back after he opted out of the 2020 season, leaving Twyman to battle Armon Watts and James Lynch for a spot on the roster.
