The Minnesota Vikings have cut 22 players as the team gets its roster down to the league-mandated 53 players by Saturday afternoon.
The official list was posted by the team Saturday evening.
Among the notables:
- Offensive linemen David Yankey and Tyrus Thompson
- Former Gophers wide receiver Isaac Fruechte, who apparently has a good shot at making the practice squad
- Tackle Babatunde Aiyegbusi of Poland, who signed with the team earlier this year even though he had never played football before.
To shore up their offensive line, the Vikings traded with San Diego for lineman Jeremiah Sirles, according to 1500ESPN.com.
Sirles, a 2014 undrafted product out of Nebraska, played in two games with the Chargers as a rookie. The Vikings will give up a sixth-round draft pick next year.
Some notable names to make the #Vikings: Taylor Heinicke, Marcus Sherels, Chase Ford, Captain Munnerlyn, Zach Line, Matt Asiata.
