The Vikings announced Thursday the signing of safety Jake Gervase and the release of wide receiver N’Keal Harry.
Minnesota signed Harry earlier in August. The former first-round pick was having a good camp but suffered a lower-body, soft tissue injury in warmups ahead of last Saturday’s preseason game against the Titans, according to head coach Kevin O’Connell.

Gervase, 27, spent four years with the Los Angeles Rams after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2019. He mainly participated as a practice squad player but did participate in all four of the4 Rams’ playoff games en route to beating the Bengals 23-20 in the 2021-22 Super Bowl.
The 6-foot-1 safety recorded seven interceptions in four years at Iowa, developing into the team’s leading tackler as a fifth-year senior after walking onto the team as a freshman out of Davenport, Iowa.
In 2018 he tied for second in the Big Ten with four interceptions and was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
