The Minnesota Vikings are having another busy day getting ready for start of free agency next week. The Vikings announced they have released wide receiver Greg Childs and defensive tackle Letroy Guion.

1500 ESPN reports the moves will give the Vikings nearly $40 million dollars under the NFL’s salary cap when free agency opens on Tuesday.
Guion was disappointing at nose tackle for the Vikings last season. He relinquished the spot to Kevin Williams later in the season.
The Vikings will pay a $300,000 cap penalty for releasing Guion, the move will save them nearly $4 million in cap space.
Childs has never taken the field for the Vikings. He was drafted by the team in the fourth round of the 2012 draft out of Arkansas. But an injury to his knees has kept him off the field. He spent all of 2013 on the physically unable to perform list.
The Vikings have been clearing salary cap space, earlier this week the team released tight end John Carlson. Carlson has no plans to quit playing football, he is visiting with Arizona about joining the Cardinals, according to Pro Football Talk.
The Vikings are also taking a look at some potential free agents. One includes former Ravens ILB Jameel McLain.
