The Minnesota Vikings received great news at the NFL’s annual owners meetings on Monday. The Star Tribune reports the Vikings were approved for the league’s G4 financing program, which allows teams building new stadiums to receive a loan from the league.
Per the report, the G4 loan will likely provide the Vikings with the maximum of $200 million, which the team will pay back over a 15 year period.
The Vikings also submitted applications to host the Super Bowl in 2017, 2018 or 2019.
Minnesota’s new stadium is expected to open in time for the start of the 2016 season.
