The Minnesota Vikings are one of only two teams with a losing record in 2014 to appear in the top half of Peter King’s June NFL power rankings.
Coming in at No. 6 on the list, the Vikings received more support from King than they have from any other off-season power rankings.
“This is reliant on so many things. Adrian Peterson showing up number one. But finding a consistent pass-rush is key too, as is the continued maturity of Teddy Bridgewater. I pick the Vikes here because if you ask me for one rising team if two or three vital things go right, I’m picking Minnesota.”
The only other team with a losing record to find its way into King’s top 15 is New Orleans (7-9 in 2014).
King’s rankings are the only notable updated rankings since the NFL Draft took place about a month ago. Shortly after the draft, the Vikings were listed as a team on the rise by multiple other outlets.
The second set of Vikings organized team activities is this week, June 2-4.
