In his Monday news conference, Vikings coach Leslie Frasier told reporters star running back Adrian Peterson will continue to rotate with Toby Gerhart during upcoming games, saying the team’s approach will be one of caution as Peterson continues to recover from knee surgery last December.
Frazier also said that Peterson showed “no ill effects” after carrying the ball 17 times Sunday in Minnesota’s 26-23 victory over Jacksonville.
As for Peterson’s performance Sunday, AP told reporters afterward that he’s ready to carry the load going forward, according to KFAN.com.
Star-Tribune columnist Jim Souhan, meanwhile, echoed many across the pro football landscape, writing that Peterson’s 84-yard, two-touchdown day “spoke of athletic bravery.”
Well said.
