The Minnesota Vikings and the Wilf family have announced that they will commit an additional $14 million towards construction of the new Vikings stadium.
The team made the announcement at today’s Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) board meeting.
According to a statement from the Vikings, the additional money increases the total private contributions to $89 million since the stadium was approved – bringing the total the team will spend on it to $566 million by the time it’s complete.
The majority of the additional money will be directed toward the stadium’s television system – including more than 2,000 HDTV monitors that will be placed throughout the stadium. The remainder of the additional funds will go toward lighting and utility enhancements.
New #Vikings stadium now well over $1 billion. Total cost of project is now $1.076 billion.
