Tying an NFL record in anything is a good win to win an award, and that’s exactly what Cordarrelle Patterson’s 109-yard kickoff return for a touchdown earned him.
The NFL named Patterson the NFC special teams player of the week on Wednesday.
The 109-yard return by Patterson was nice, but he finished the game with a total 258 kick return yards, averaging 45.6 yards per return. He leads the NFL at 39.1 yards per return.
It’s the second such award for Patterson, who earned the same honor after taking a kick back 105-yards for a touchdown against the Bears in week two.
