The Vikings are officially over the hump on hump day, with day two of three concluding of their organized team activities.
With two more sets of OTAs scheduled June 4th-6th and 10th-13th before their mandatory three-day minicamp June 20th-22nd, we are still very early in the team being together on a practice field.
So as you’d expect no stories coming out of yesterday or today are earth shattering considering we are so early, there were a few interesting tidbits to keep an eye on, and we figure there’s no harm in keeping you informed on the biggest draw in town. Heck, that’s what we’re here for, right?
The tiniest of surprises is Adrian Peterson, the man that made ACL rehab look like filling in a coloring book, says he’s doing just fine after offseason hernia surgery.
This shouldn’t come as much of a shock either. Despite all the hype, potential, and fanfare around the drafting of Corrdarrelle Patterson, there’s still some work to be done before he’s ready to contribute in a big way come September.
Who’s the middle linebacker? Options are slim, which is why Erin Henderson might just be battling himself, despite the acquisition of Stanford Keglar today.
Staying on the defensive side of the ball, Jared Allen is not in attendance, but don’t read anything in to that, even after his contract comments last week, he generally is absent from OTAs regardless of the year.
The Vikings bell-cow of the offseason was not on the field today, but coach Leslie Frazier says there’s no cause for concern.
Speaking of Frazier, he seems generally pleased with how the week has gone so far.
And that revamped offense? Just ask Christian Ponder how he feels about it.
Overkill? Maybe, but if the Vikings are on a field, people will be talking about them, no matter what time of year.
