As construction on its $1 billion stadium continues apace, the Minnesota Vikings are offering fans the chance to have their names etched into the fabric of the building.
The franchise launched a “Legacy Bricks” program Thursday allowing people to buy bricks with personalized inscriptions that will be part of the three-acre west plaza at the stadium.
Fans can spend between $160 to $360 on three different sizes of brick, and have a certain amount of space to write their personalized message.
One possibly unintended outcome of the launch however, is the response on social media that has seen people use the Vikings’ brick designer to come up with their own, tongue-in-cheek creations and share them via the hashtag #vikingsbricks.
It comes just a few days after the Mall of America’s #itsmymall campaign was taken over by Black Lives Matters protestors who criticized the megamall for its handling of its protest in December.
