Just over three days remain for Vikings players battling injuries to get healthy enough to play in a huge game Sunday in Los Angeles against the Chargers.
Minnesota’s injury report Thursday isn’t devastating by any means, but four key players are banged up to the point that they were limited in practice.
- WR Adam Thielen (hamstring)
- DB Xavier Rhodes (ankle)
- DB Mike Hughes (hip)
- WR Bisi Johnson (quad)
Additionally, running back Alexander Mattison did not practice for a second straight day because of an ankle injury. If Mattison can’t play Sunday, there will be more pressure on Dalvin Cook to avoid aggravating a chest injury that has kept his snap count down each of the past two games.
Cook has been a full participant in practice this week.
Thielen has barely seen the field since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 7 (Oct. 20) against the Lions. But ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the plan is for Thielen to play this week.
Barring a setback in practice this week, Vikings’ WR Adam Thielen is expected to return to the lineup Sunday against the Chargers after missing the past four games due to a hamstring injury, per league source.
