Good news for the Vikings as a the hamstring injury that limited Stefon Diggs in practice all week will not be enough to keep him off the field for Sunday’s season opener against the Atlanta Falcons at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Diggs is active, but new wide receiver Josh Doctson, who signed a week ago, is inactive.
Minnesota will enter the game with just four wide receivers active: Diggs, Adam Thielen, Chad Beebe and Bisi Johnson. That could mean rookie tight end Irv Smith Jr. is on the field lot in his first NFL regular-season game.
Kickoff between the Vikings and Falcons is at 12 p.m.
