Josh Freeman was a healthy scratch last week, not suiting up for the Purple when they played Dallas in JerryWorld.
This week, a step in the right direction for the recently acquired quarterback, as he is healthy and active for the Vikings.
With how head coach Leslie Frazier has talked in the past, Freeman will likely serve as the backup to Christian Ponder tonight, though Matt Cassel is listed as the backup on the Vikings depth chart.
The inactive list is a lengthy one this week, with defensive backs Chris Cook and Jamarca Sanford unable to go, as well as offensive linemen Charlie Johnson and Phil Loadholt, defensive tackle Fred Evans, tight end Kyle Rudolph, and running back Matt Asiata.
In place of Evans on the defensive line will be rookie Sharrif Floyd, rookie Xavier Rhodes will start for Chris Cook at cornerback, and safety Mistral Raymond will be on the field sans Jamarca Sanford.
In related news, a roster move was made before the game, with linebacker Audie Cole being released by Minnesota, as they promoted offensive tackle Kevin Murphy from the practice squad.
