Will the border battle against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football feature Teddy Bridgewater or Christian Ponder?
Ponder replaced Bridgewater after the rookie suffered a sprained left ankle late in Sunday’s 41-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons. MRI results today came back negative, giving Bridgewater a much better chance to play under the lights of Lambeau Field in four days.
“He’s doing a lot better today, so we’ll see,” Head coach Mike Zimmer said Monday, according to the Star Tribune.
Zimmer added that he’s “hopeful” Bridgewater will play against the Packers.

Bridgewater sprained his left ankle diving for the end zone late in the fourth quarter. He didn’t score, but two plays later Matt Asiata punched one in from a yard out to give Minnesota the lead for good. It capped a nine-play, 87-yard drive that gave Bridgewater his first come-from-behind victory as a pro.
If Bridgewater does play, his ankle injury may not allow him to make plays like the one in the GIF below, but he’s still without question Minnesota’s best option at quarterback.
