Purple tongues planted firmly in purple cheeks, the Vikings website today offered an “up-close” view of the new uniforms the NFL franchise will sport in 2013.
How is “up-close” defined? By showing the “Vikings” script below the collar, but above the numbers on front of the jersey.
To the trained eye, it’s still a significant development:

We’ll presumably see a lot more when the new Nike uniforms are officially unveiled a the team’s draft party at the Mall of America Field on April 25.

Is it the real deal? Not likely, according to the Purple Jesus Diaries blog, which took issue with the black piping on the pants: “For what reason are we adding black to the uniform now? Is this 1998 and no one told me?”
