There are 32 teams in the NFL and four of them can claim its best or worst moment in franchise history to have happened in a game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to a list of the “most iconic” moments created by Sporting News.
Vick runs through Minnesota
Michael Vick is the owner of the greatest individual play in the history of the Atlanta Falcons. His victim was the 2002 Vikings, when he took off for a 46-yard game-winning touchdown run in overtime at the Metrodome.
Pearson’s push off
Dallas’ most iconic play came against the Vikings in the 1975 NFC playoffs. Quarterback Roger Staubach connected with wide receiver Drew Pearson for a 50-yard, game-winning touchdown with just 24 seconds to play. The Cowboys won 17-14 in a game that still has people debating if Pearson pushed off.
Out of the end zone
You’d think the most memorable play in Detroit Lions history would belong to someone like Barry Sanders, but it doesn’t. Sporting News elected to go with the embarrassing moment when Jared Allen chased Dan Orlovsky out of the back of the end zone at Metrodome for a safety. Those poor Lions finished the 2008 season 0-16.
65 Toss Power Trap
January 11, 1971 is the day the Kansas City Chiefs collected its most memorable play. Head coach Hank Stram called for “65 Toss Power Trap” and it resulted in an easy touchdown to help put the final nail in the coffin against the Vikings in Super Bowl IV.

As for the Vikings, Sporting News picked Jim Marshall’s 66-yard fumble return to the wrong end zone as the most iconic moment in team history.
One positive for a Minnesotan
Larry Fitzgerald owns the most iconic play in Arizona Cardinals history. It happened when he split the Steelers defense for a 64-yard touchdown in Super Bowl XLIII.
