The Vikings have fired offensive coordinator John DeFilippo the day after their 21-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
The Vikings confirmed the news shortly after it had been reported by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
Quarterbacks coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to call plays for the rest of the season.

DeFilippo only joined the Vikings this past February, taking over the position that became available when Pat Shurmur left to become the head coach of the New York Giants.
Before joining the Vikings, he was the quarterbacks coach at the Philadelphia Eagles, overseeing Carson Wentz and Nick Foles as the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
Under him, the Vikings have the 8th-ranked passing offense in the NFL and the 30th-ranked rushing offense.
While the Vikings offense was pretty good in the first half of the season, it put up just 17 points in the past two games against the Patriots and the Seahawks, with some of the play calling questioned in both games.
Since their loss to the Saints in Week 8, the Vikings have posted fewer than 100 rushing yards in five of six games and under 250 passing yards four times.
