The Minnesota Vikings finished their preseason schedule with a perfect 4-0 record by defeating the Los Angeles Rams 27-25 on Thursday night.
Just days after Teddy Bridgewater suffered a season-ending injury, back up QB Joel Stave left Thursday’s Vikings game with a hand injury.
Despite suiting up and participating in warmups, the Vikings didn’t even risk starting presumed week 1 starter Shaun Hill. Instead, Stave started the game for Minnesota.
Stave was knocked down seven times and sacked twice in 18 pass attempts. Late in the second quarter he left the game with a a hand injury. Brad Sorensen took the the remainder of the snaps completing 4-9 passes for 53 yards.
Stave wasn’t the only player who got hurt. Cornerback Jabari Price also left the game with a knee injury.

The highlight of the game, though, came when Jhurell Pressley took a kickoff 106 yards to the house.

As a team, the Vikings accumulated just 182 total yards in their win over the Rams.
With the preseason concluded, the Vikings must get their roster down to 53 players by Saturday. General Manager Rick Spielman told reporters before Thursday’s game that the Vikings could be signing a quarterback soon.
If Stave’s hand injury sets him back, Minnesota’s only quarterbacks are Hill and Sorensen.
