Vikings fans have been waiting for years to get their first taste of game day at their team’s new home – and that day has finally arrived.
Admittedly, Sunday’s preseason game against the Chargers is more like the appetizer ahead of the main course that will be the $1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium’s first regular season game against the Packers.
But for fans who have been waiting for a new permanent home since the Metrodome closed three years ago, it’s the first chance to sample the atmosphere at the fully-enclosed stadium.
Here’s what they were saying ahead of the game:

It might look like the Death Star on the outside, but with the amount of light it allows in, U.S. Bank Stadium has an outdoor feel to it.
