Game action is over for the Vikings, so we have nothing to do except speculate on the next Minnesota head coach and lick our chops with the possibilities in May’s NFL draft with the Purple holding the No. 8 pick.
We’ve already done one of those today, so we figure we might as well do the other before nightfall.
Draft eligible soon-to-be-superstars Teddy Bridgewater and Jadeveon Clowney, considered the top two prizes come May, both declared for the draft this afternoon.
South Carolina DE Jadaveon Clowney said he will leave school and enter NFL Draft. Top 5 pick.

Bridgewater, Louisville’s superstar quarterback that led the Cardinals to a one-loss season and win in the Russell Athletic Bowl, is projected as the No. 1 pick on many experts big boards.
Clowney, South Carolina’s defensive star at linebacker and end, is projected as a top five pick, but with his recent off-field driving issues, questions will surely come up about his character in team interviews.
Vikings fans will hope one of the two can slip through the cracks and get to No. 8, as Minnesota is in desperate need of a franchise quarterback and had major defensive issues this year.
While Bridgewater seems to be a lock to go in the top three and Clowney’s current issues aren’t nearly severe enough to hinder his draft stock much, we can dream, right?
After all, it was a year ago today Clowney did this.
