As expected, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman didn’t reveal much at his pre-draft news conference today. The NFL Draft is Thursday, with Minnesota holding the 23rd and 25th picks in the first round.
Spielman told reporters that “you never know” what will happen when asked if he’ll try to trade up, according to the Pioneer Press. He also said the Vikings could make a deal to trade down and pick up more selections. Going into the draft, Minnesota has 11 picks.
Spielman said that his phone has been more active this week than it had been leading up to a draft in some time. But he tempered that with: “Whether you believe me or not.”
In other words, you’ll find out what the Vikings are going to do Thursday, when they’re on the board.
