Vikings assistant coach Mike Singletary interviewed Friday with St. Louis Rams for the team’s defensive coordinator position, the Daily Norseman reports.
Word of the interview comes after the former Chicago Bears linebacker great interviewed with his old team for their head coaching vacancy.
That job, however, went to former Gopher player and Vikings assistant coach Mark Trestman.
Singletary has never been a defensive coordinator. Before the Vikings, he was a linebacker coach with the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, before being promoted to the 49ers interim coach in 2008, and eventually, the head coaching position.
After he was fired from the 49ers in 2010, Singletary joined his fellow Bears teammate, Vikings coach Leslie Frasier, in Minnesota.
