It’s looking more likely that Adam Thielen will miss Sunday’s game in Dallas, while the Cowboys are reportedly hopeful Amari Cooper will be able to overcome a knee injury and play.
Thielen did not practice Wednesday and was again watching from the sidelines on Wednesday, according to beat writers covering the Vikings. The wide receiver suffered a strained hamstring in Minnesota’s Oct. 20 win over Detroit, sat out the Thursday night game against Washington and then aggravated the hamstring early in last Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs.
NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday that it’s unlikely Thielen will play. If Thielen is out, it could be an opportunity for Josh Doctson to get on the field for the first time since coming off of injured reserve.
Meanwhile, CBS Sports’ Patrik Walker cites sources in a report saying the Cowboys aren’t too concerned about a knee injury Cooper suffered in Dallas’ 37-18 win over the Giants on Monday night.
Nonetheless, Cooper underwent an MRI on Wednesday and did not practice Thursday.
“Barring a finding in the MRI and/or a setback of any sort in the next day or two, it’s expected Cooper will take the field against the Vikings,” writes Walker.
Cooper has hauled in six of Dak Prescott’s 15 touchdown passes this season, and he leads the Cowboys with 42 receptions for 701 yards.
Vikings defensive back Trae Waynes and defensive tackle Linval Joseph were also missing from Thursday’s practice.
