Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is in Minnesota and he’s likely in the thick of his second interview for the Vikings’ vacant head coaching job right now. FOX 9’s Dawn Mitchell captured video of Zimmer entering the practice facility in Eden Prairie on Tuesday morning.
Cincinnati sports blogger Dan Clasgens tweeted a photo of Zimmer at an airport in Cincinnati earlier Tuesday.

Zimmer is considered the favorite to become the ninth head coach in franchise history, but Pro Football Talk reported late Monday night that Minnesota will continue taking a “methodical approach” in their ongoing search. Seattle coordinators Darrell Bevell and Dan Quinn could get second interviews, and it’s possible the Vikings will wait for the Broncos’ season to end so they can interview offensive coordinator Adam Gase and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.
No teams have interviewed Gase or Del Rio. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Dec. 30 that both were on the Vikings’ radar.
The Vikings, or any team for that matter, are not allowed to interview coordinators currently still coaching teams still alive in the playoffs, so any future interviews with Bevell, Quinn, Del Rio and Gase will have to wait until next week or after the Super Bowl.
The Vikings and Browns are the only teams without a head coach. The Lions have reportedly hired Jim Caldwell as their new head coach.

The reported beliefs are Browns aren't in on same guys as Vikings, so time isn't an issue. Zimmer getting a second interview today.
