It’s official: U.S. Bank Stadium is now open.
The Minnesota Vikings celebrated with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at their new $1.1 billion stadium today ,with team owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, Gov. Mark Dayton, Lt. Gov. Tina Smith, fireworks, and Prince playing in the background.
The presentation included everything from the Eden Prairie High School Band playing the National Anthem, to a moment of silence for the late former Vikings coach Dennis Green, to videos from several Minnesota celebrities including Karl-Anthony Towns, Lindsey Vonn and North Dakota-native/well-known Vikings fan Josh Duhamel.

The stadium will host the 2018 Super Bowl, the 2019 NCAA Final Four, and the 2017 and 2018 X Games.
U.S. Bank Stadium is 1.75 million square feet – twice the size of the Metrodome. It also has over 66,000 seats, features six different club spaces and more than 8,000 club seats.

While the ribbon cutting was not open to the general public, there will be an open house both Saturday and Sunday, and tickets are free.
