Welcome back to your Twins East headquarters, giving you all the Francisco Liriano, Justin Morneau, and Pittsburgh Pirates coverage your heart desires.

Remember, the Pirates hadn’t made the playoffs in 21 years.
That headline was spurred by the arm of, who else, Francisco Liriano, who went six innings, giving up just two runs and three hits against the Cardinals today. Liriano didn’t get the win despite leaving with the lead, but Pedro Alvarez stepped up to make sure the Pirates wouldn’t come up on the wrong end Sunday, sealing their 5-3 win with this RBI single in the eighth.
Here’s what Liriano said before his Game 3 start, as well as video of his sparkling performance.
Justin Morneau was his typical solid, not spectacular self, going 1-4 while scoring one of the Pirates five runs in the 5-3 win.
This win gives Pittsburgh a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five series against St. Louis, and leaves them one win away from the NLCS, the final playoff round before the World Series.
