The Minnesota Twins welcomed a pair of talented star athletes back to Minnesota on Monday as part of their home opener festivities.
Twins outfielder Torii Hunter received a rousing welcome to Target Field from the crowd and Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett was welcomed back as he threw out the ceremonial first pitch, after he returned to the Wolves just prior to the NBA’s trade deadline.
The Twins created quite the Target Field moment. Not only did Garnett throw out the first pitch, but Hunter caught it. And if that wasn’t quite good enough, Minnesota welcomed home Apple Valley native Tyus Jones, who recently led Duke to a national championship. He brought the ceremonial first pitch ball to Garnett.
