Jose Berrios got knocked around during his first stint with the Twins earlier this season.
The right-handed pitching prospect posted an ERA of 10.20 in four starts, but it looks like he might be ready for another chance. Berrios has been getting back to what he does best – getting hitters out.
He was named to the MLBPipeline Team of the Week this week after posting a 2.51 ERA in four Triple-A starts in June with a 32/8 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 28 2/3 innings.

New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran, who like Berrios comes from Puerto Rico, believes that the Twins’ top prospect is one of the most promising young arms to come out of Puerto Rico in years.
“Berrios is a talented man,” Beltran told the Pioneer Press over the weekend. “I love Berrios. I love the kid. He works so hard and he has a lot of passion and a lot of tools. He’s a kid that needs a little guidance, but when that guy figures it out, he’s going to be a good pitcher for this organization for a long time.”
Overall, Berrios is 6-3 with a 2.92 ERA at Rochester. He also ranks third in the International League with an opponent average of .199.
