The Twins sent three players to Miami for Tuesday night’s MLB All Star Game. Two of them were involved in runs. Though one wasn’t great for the American League squad.
The AL won the game 2-1 on a Robinson Cano solo homer in the top of the 10th inning.
But they were only in a position to top the NL thanks to Miguel Sano.
The 24-year-old, playing in his first All Star Game, drove in the first run of the game with a bloop single in the fifth inning that barely landed fair. It was Sano’s only at bat in the game, and it put the AL up 1-0.

Brandon Kintzler, the Twins’ closer, threw a scoreless bottom of the 5th, getting three groundouts.

Then the lead disappeared the next inning.
Ervin Santana gave up a solo home run on a 2-2 count to Yadier Molina, tying things up.

“It was a good pitch, down and away,” he told MLB.com. “But he was a diver, so he dived, and he made good contact. Yadier is a good hitter.”
And that was it for Minnesota Twins on Tuesday evening.
