Former Twin Latroy Hawkins, who has now been in the league an incredible 21 years, was perfect as the Mets closer going into last night after taking over the role a few weeks ago.
Problem is, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been darn near perfect for the last two months.
The series of events in Hawkins evening could not have been much worse late in the west coast night Wednesday, first taking this grounder up the middle, that brought him to his knees and led to this tweet.
#NoBueno DIRECT HIT Did not get any glove on the ball!!! long bus ride to SD #ICE #Mets #LGM Not a good feeling

That was the least of the Mets worries, as the next batter was Andre Ethier, who ruined The Hawk’s perfect record in save opportunities, by belting this bomb to tie it in the bottom of the ninth.
The Dodgers won it in the 12th on this Adrian Gonzalez double, and have now won eight in a row and 40 of their last 48.
Of course someone with Twins ties was on the receiving end of such physical and emotional pain.
