Cameron Wiley, a three-star running back from Las Vegas, Nevada, announced that he’s committed to play football for P.J. Fleck on the Golden Gophers.
Kyle Goblirsch of 247 Sports notes that Wiley (6’2” and 195 pounds) runs a blazing-fast 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and will likely see his stock rise as a senior because he didn’t play as a junior. Why he didn’t play is unclear.
Wiley had offers from Oregon, Arizona, Utah, Duke, Kansas, TCU and Washington State, among others.
Wiley told a podcast in Utah that his strengths are speed, strength and vision but he needs to work on his ability to make cuts.
Wiley is the 20th recruit to commit to Minnesota in 2019, and as of Sunday afternoon the Gophers have the 24th-ranked recruiting class in 2019, according to 247 Sports.
Minnesota has 17 recruits rated with three stars and one four-star recruit. Alabama has hte No. 1 class in 2019 and it features 18 four-star recruits.
