Adrian Peterson is a good bet to win his second career MVP award this season.
According to Bovada, Peterson’s 12-to-1 odds to win the NFL’s top individual award is the third best bet in the league, falling behind Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Luck is second with 7-to-1 odds and Rodgers leads the pack with 5-to-1 odds.
Peterson won the award in 2012 after rushing for 2,097 yards and 12 touchdowns. He fell just 8 yards shy of the NFL single-season record and he accomplished the feat less than a year removed from major reconstructive knee surgery.
Check out this cool fun fact from CBS Sports:
“Only four people have won the MVP since 2007 and only six people have won it since 2003. They’re all quarterbacks (Aaron Rodgers,Tom Brady, Peyton Manning) and running backs (Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Shaun Alexander).”
Rounding out the top five betting odds for MVP are Texans defensive lineman and reigning NFL MVP J.J. Watt (12-to-1) and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (16-to-1).
There has been plenty of excitement as @adrianpeterson has returned to the field.
