In Florida, Vance “the Vanimal” Worley made his Twins pitching debut today, tossing two scoreless innings — giving up two hits and striking out one — as Minnesota defeated Pittsburgh, 5-4, in Grapefruit League play.
Justin Morneau had three RBI’s for the Twins, as he cleared the bases with a fourth-inning double.
Worley, who might be the leading candidate to start on Opening Day on a revamped Twins pitching staff, tells the Philadelphia Inquirer: “Here, I’m not behind anybody.”
