Vance Worley will be the Twins Opening Day starter against the Detroit Tigers at Target Field on Monday.
The Twins made the announcement after Worley allowed two runs in five innings of a spring training start against the Pirates on Wednesday. Worley breaks camp with a 5.73 ERA.
La Velle Neal III of the Star Tribune speculates that Kevin Correia, Cole De Vries and Mike Pelfrey will follow Worley in the rotation.
Manager Ron Gardenhire is confident his club will score runs, but he’s hopeful the starters can “stay in the games a little bit longer.”
