In update to our earlier story, it looks like Wild GM Chuck Fletcher has managed to protect three of the team’s prized-yet-unprotected players from the expansion draft.
Star Tribune Wild beat-writer Michael Russo reports that Fletcher successfully pulled off a trade on Wednesday that keeps Matt Dumba, Marco Scandella, and Eric Staal as members of the Wild.
Instead, the Vegas Golden Knights agreed to receive forward Erik Haula and prospect Alex Tuch as the newest members of their franchise.

Haula, according to reports, has already signed a multi-year extension with the Vegas Golden Knights as part of the trade.
(2/2) Haula's deal is for 3 years, I believe. The draft pick conditions are complicated…I'll update blog once I get a good grasp

The Wild will get a conditional future draft selection back from Vegas. The parameters of said pick are yet to be disclosed.
Erik Haula becomes the first official selection by the Golden Knights as part of Wednesday night’s NHL expansion draft, which airs at 7PM central time on the NBC Sports Network.
