As expected, the Twins put catcher-outfielder Ryan Doumit on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion and reinstated slugger Josh Willingham.
Doumit left Wednesday night’s 5-2 loss to the Royals in the fifth inning due to concussion-like symptoms, according to MLB.com. If he’s cleared, Doumit could be back in the lineup by next Thursday.
Willingham, meanwhile, has been away from the team for a month after he underwent surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee.
The Twins are in Chicago where they open a four-game series against the White Sox today with a day-night doubleheader.
