Jared Allen limped off the field during Vikings practice in Mankato Tuesday, but returned today to take part in the morning walk-through.
The Star Tribune reports Allen didn’t have much of a limp, with coach Leslie Frazier saying the injury wasn’t serious. Nevertheless, Allen won’t play in Friday’s pre-season opener against Houston.
In other Vikings injury news:
Harrison Smith: Smith sat out the majority of Tuesday’s practice with what Frazier called a twisted knee. But today Frazier said Smith’s injury wasn’t serious. That might have been evident yesteray when the second-years safety jogged back to the locker room. No word yet if he’ll play Friday.
Desmond Bishop: He missed a third straight practice Tuesday with a groin injury, and it’s unlikely he’ll play Friday.
Xavier Rhodes: The rookie missed his fourth consecutive practice Tuesday with a hamstring injury. Rhodes says that he “feels good,” but he’s expected to miss the Texans game as well.
