The Gophers women’s basketball team faces Ohio State tonight in the first round of the Big 10 tournament.
Minnesota, 18-12 overall and 7-9 in the conference, likely need to string a few wins together to make the NCAA tournament. Pam Borton’s team been to the big dance for the past three seasons.
Facing the Buckeyes couldn’t be a better draw. Minnesota has already defeated Ohio State twice this season.
After a strong conference finish, which included a win against league champion Penn State, Borton told the Star Tribune, “I think we’re in a great situation.”
If the Gophers win tonight, they’ll face the Nittany Lions Friday night.
Tip-off tonight in Chicago is at 6 p.m., with the game to be carried on the Big Ten Network.
